Strasbourg for a weekend
12 July 2024
Start your first day with…
- A visit to Strasbourg’s Notre-Dame Cathedral
The oldest Gothic cathedral in the world, Strasbourg’s cathedral is the symbol of the city.
From Rue Mercière or Les Hallebardes, you can take in all its grandeur.
The interior is impressive, with its astronomical clock, organ and stained glass windows. And don’t forget the platform for a bit of height. - Take a lunch break at the BOMA hotel
Every week, a new lunch menu is created using fresh, local and (often) ORGANIC produce.
The menu is a fexitarian one: fish, meat, veggie, gluten-free or lactose-free, you’re bound to find what you’re looking for!
BOMA is open from 12 noon to 2 pm, but advance reservations are recommended. - Enjoy a sunset at Petite France
A picturesque neighborhood par excellence, it’s impossible to stay in the city without lingering here. It’s the epitome of Alsatian charm, with its half-timbered houses, pretty cobbled streets and riverside quays. Here, you’ll find THE sunset perched on the terrace of the Barrage Vauban. - End your day with a moment of relaxation
Treat yourself to a moment in our relaxation and wellness area at the Régent Contades hotel. Choose to let go in the saunarium before comfortably spending the night.
Day 2 has arrived… A taste of Strasbourg
- Breakfast like kings in our majestic “Belle Epoque” salon
Chandeliers, high ceilings, moldings, herringbone parquet flooring: continue your stay with a French-style breakfast.
In the glass roof, choose from a wide selection of sweet and savory dishes. - Discover the historic cellar of the Hospices civils
At the heart of Strasbourg’s Civil Hospital lies a long-hidden secret: the Hospices civils.
The first stone of the hospital and its cellars was laid in 1395. In those days, only a small proportion of patients were able to pay for treatment. The others paid with what they had, sometimes with bottles of wine. Here you can find the world’s oldest preserved wine in a barrel, dating back to 1472. - Art at Strasbourg’s Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCS)
Inaugurated in 1998, the museum offers 5,000 m² of collections and exhibitions to explore, including 18,000 works of art.
The MAMCS is one of the few French museums to present a representative survey of Western art from 1870 to the present day. - Treat yourself to a gourmet Tea Time at the LÉONOR hotel, the place to live
Savor excellent pastries that evoke the richness of Alsatian gastronomy and your childhood.
Whether you prefer tea, chocolate or coffee, the LÉONOR will delight you.
