Strasbourg along the water

3 May 2022

With its 230 bridges and its city center bordered by the Ill River, Strasbourg is a city that can be experienced and discovered along the water. Guided boat tour, boat rental without a license or a stroll along the docks: several choices are available to you to admire the historic buildings of the old city or to reach the European district.

A cruise with Batorama

Embark on an original tour of the city with Batorama. On board its open-air or air-conditioned boats, the company takes you to discover 20 centuries of the city’s history thanks to audio guides available in 12 languages. Different tours are offered to explore the main districts. The longest tour, lasting 1 hour and 10 minutes, takes you to the European quarter and tells you more about the Parliament and the Council of Europe. An experience not to be missed on a first visit to Strasbourg, to share with family or friends!

On an adventure with Marin d’Eau Douce

Go to the nautical base located in the city center next to the Petite France district. Marin d’Eau Douce offers electric boat rentals without a license to navigate through the city and its surroundings. Different itineraries are proposed, lasting from one to six hours, with the possibility of taking with you cold drinks and planks to share.

Benefit from a reduced rate during your stay upon request to the reception.

A walk along the docks

Walking down to the waterfront from St. Paul’s Church, you can walk along the waterfront to the downtown area and admire the historic buildings at your own pace. Numerous benches along the way invite you to take a break at the water’s edge. We advise you to go there in the early evening to admire the sunset from the docks.
